This video is about camp resorts. Are they worth going to? Simon recently stayed at a camp resort, and had a great time with the family. Call it camping, glamping, whatever you want, but it's a ton of fun for family and friends of all ages.
Ready why Texas Outside gave this campground an 8.6/10 rating:

What's up everybody, it's Simon from Lakeb and I just went camping at a camp
0:06
resort. Hey, I used to think that wasn't real camping. I used to think it was kind of
0:11
like glamping. I still do, but it's totally fun. Totally fun. Especially if
0:19
you have kids. If you have kids or you're going on like a multi-generational kind
0:24
of camping trip or you're going on a trip where not everybody has campers and
0:28
people don't want to tent camp or they don't have the tools and equipment to
0:32
tent camp. So if you have kind of a mixed bag of people who are, they're
0:36
looking to, you know, some people might be looking to get a cabin or something
0:41
like that or a yurt, you know, sleep in a teepee. Along with, people have
0:49
motorhomes, different size campers or family reunions. Oh my gosh, what a
0:55
great experience for groups of people, especially if you have kids. It was so
1:02
much fun. I mean, we had stuff to do all day, every day. There was a fish and pond
1:07
that was just stocked to the top with little sunfish. Kids had a blast
1:13
catching those. There was this, you know, obstacle course. A lot of them that are
1:18
on lakes, they actually have like the obstacle courses like in the lake, in the
1:22
water. We spent a lot of time on that and it was, it was all ages and it was
1:28
totally fun like playing tag and jumping off, you know, huge, you know, I don't know
1:34
25 foot something like that platforms off of it, slides and all kinds of crazy
1:39
stuff. All kinds of pools, like several pool areas, lots of stuff for the kids to
1:46
do, you know, farm animals, chickens, goats. There was like mini golf and kind of like
1:55
airsoft paintball, you know, type course and like hayrides. All kinds of fun stuff
2:03
I'll give you a tip. A lot of times they ran out of golf carts. These places are
2:09
huge, like so spread out and, you know, when we booked it we didn't know, we
2:14
didn't know the deal, you know, we'd never been on one of these before. Get a golf
2:18
cart. It was, we, after, after half a day and all our friends had golf carts and
2:23
they're like running around all over the place, hey let's go run over here, let's go run over there, let's go, you know, we have to go to the bathroom, pile in, you
2:29
know, run and we're trying to keep up driving around in our vehicle or bikes
2:34
or walking and we were just behind. So we ended up renting a golf cart for one day
2:40
but it was, they were booked out for the weekend because they rent the golf carts
2:44
when you book your site. So didn't know that. Something we learned. Hopefully
2:49
that's a tip that will help you out. If you're thinking about going to a camp
2:53
resort, give me a little like for that one. That's a good tip right there. Okay
2:57
it's worth the money. I know, you're probably gonna think the same thing I did like, golf cart? Really guys? Like we're camping, golf cart? Yeah, it's worth it
3:05
Just do it. Just suck it up and do it. This is, this is, don't, don't file this
3:10
under camping budget. File this under vacation budget. You'll be saving money
3:14
You're not going to Disney World here, right? So you're saving money. You're
3:19
making money. Hey, you're making money. That's the way you got to look at it. Anyway, if you're thinking about going to a camp resort or you haven't, you've kind
3:27
of maybe heard about them like, you know, like Yogi Bear's Jellystone Parks
3:32
There's, those are, you know, it's a really quickly growing brand. Those are pretty
3:37
awesome too, but they're all totally different because they're independently owned. That's a franchise. We went to one that was private. It was called Coyote
3:45
Ranch Resort and it was in Wichita Falls, Texas. It wasn't even on a lake, but I'm
3:50
here to tell you that there are some on lakes, there are some on rivers, there's some on the ocean, inland. Whatever flavor you can dream up, you can find
3:58
yourself a camp resort. And it's not gonna be the way that we camp all the
4:03
time, but once or twice a year, this is a thing we're doing 100%. We might even
4:09
go in a couple months. Try a different one out. We're gonna go for a little bit
4:13
of a different flavor, kind of like wooded, you know, East Texas maybe. We're
4:19
not sure yet. Or maybe hill country Texas, you know. On a lake or on a river. Yeah
4:25
that'd be pretty fun. Hey, get outside. I'll catch you next time
